Reflection #1
Is the work what I visualized it to be? Why or why not?
Yes and no, depending on the shot! I was trying to make the assignment come to life despite having quite hum-drum subject material for the most part (SLCC campus win!). I was disappointed with the exposure of a few of them, particularly the ones with a lot of sidewalk or in dappled shade (an issue I did not think about when I headed up the canyon!)
What was my greatest success with this assignment?
I like the angles I used on lots of the everyday items like signs and vents, to try and add a little visual interest to the subject. I like the rule of thirds and feel it made my subject matter a little more interesting!
What do I need to do differently next time to make my images more successful?
My biggest issue is overexposure when there's different levels of light in different parts of the picture (a splash of light on a rock, dappled light from trees overhead, etc). I'm not sure what the solution is to that...Do I just try very hard to not have patches of light in my photos or is there something technical I can do to fix it?
