Reflection
I'm so glad I took this class this semester! Taking this class helped me discover a lot of things that I didn't know I had strong passionate opinions about. It has opened many doors into trains of thought for my life path that I hadn't encountered before. Some of my opinions changed, but others were just reinforced as I learned more about the details of the past. I'm very glad I took it this semester instead of over the summer...I don't know that the class would have had the same effect on me had it not been taught with such passion.
There are a couple important things I am taking away from this class. First, the things politicians and government bodies do (or don't do) affect my life directly, and I want to actively continue learning to understand how to have my fair influence on the things that matter. Second, only I am capable of forming my own opinions; in order to do so effectively and logically, I need to be inquisitive of situations and gather all the possible information, and question all rationale handed down to me by those in the socioeconomic elite to determine its plausibility and effectiveness.
